Brandon Dunn is the owner and chief instructor of Omega Survival School in San Angelo Texas.
His journey into wilderness skills began at a very young age in the Appalachian Mountains of West Virginia. From before the time he could walk, Brandon's family took him on primitive hunting excursions often lasting a week or more. Some of his earliest memories are of the cool green and frigid white Eastern Woodlands. His family moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina where Brandon continued to grow and learn. He eventually became a skilled outdoorsman and marksman, and decided to join the United States Marine Corps.
Brandon served from 2005 through 2012; attained the rank of Sergeant, and participated in two combat tours to Iraq. During his tours, he served as an intelligence collector for and with multiple kinetic action and specialized units in various direct support roles. The most notable are 1st Battalion 7th Marines, 1st Battalion 2nd Marines, 1st and 2nd Counter Intelligence Companies and a Naval Warfare Unit.
Due to Brandon's High Risk of Capture Designation, he received specialized Survival and Resistance Training. While he was very skilled at using a small kit for survival, he sought to amplify his training. He chose to attend a Primitive Survival Camp with Dave Canterbury (Star of Discovery's "Dual Survival"). Brandon has been training with him since 2012.
